What Does the following Thyroid Test Result Mean?

Hello, My thyroid stimulating hormone is 5.880. TSH runs 5-6, T3- 109- NR 71-180, T4free - 1.25- NR (0.82-1.77). Thyroid Peroxidase 18-NR 0-34, dhea-sulfate 178.0- NR 41.2-243.7, thyroglobulin antibody 1.1-NR      0.0-0.9, thyroid stim immunoglobulin 32- NR 0-139, and no Hashimoto. I admit I feel tired sometimes. On the other hand, I am not convinced I should take synthroid if my T3, T4 are still within normal rate. Should I take synthroid or I should wait and monitor the TSH level? Thank you. Barbara

Hello,

No, you don't need to take synthyroid till your TSH level is under 10. But recommended for you to take Vitamin D supplements weekly for and methylcobalamin for 30 days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
